Exceptional quality French Louis XV style fitted secretary, the upper tambour-fronted section opening to reveal eight serpentine drawers with marquetry inlay and with a pull-out writing surface below flanked by opening side compartments. A pair of lower marquetry doors open to two drawers with further inlay above open storage. Exceptionally finely cast and finished ormolu mounts throughout and retaining the original complex shaped marble top. C. 1890
