Thomas W. Lawson Ship Painting

Circa 1940-50 folk art painted ship's portrait of the only 7-mast sailing ship ever built -- the Thomas W. Lawson. She was a steel-hulled ship launched in 1902 and sank in a storm off Italy in 1907, with all but two souls on board lost to the sea.

The Thomas W. Lawson has long been a favourite folk art subject and it is believed a Nova Scotian was on board at the time of the sinking.

This painting is painted on ply and shows good age. Mounted within a modern hand-crafted frame.

Image size is 11.5" x 23.5" and the total framed size is 15.5" x 27.5". Found in Annapolis Royal.

Dimensions: 15.5"x27.5"
