SOLD-

A William and Mary seaweed or arabesque marquetry cabinet on chest in Walnut with holly or boxwood and ebony marquetry.

This piece is likely by Thomas Pistor of Ludgate Hill, London, and is extremely well crafted with wonderful patterns of marquetry of the most ambitious sort. In excellent condition with replaced feet and replaced brass pulls on the chest. The cabinet hardware appears original.

Note: the Moorfields and Ludgate Hill joiner and cabinetmaker Thomas Pistor were in fact two craftsmen, a father and son of the same name.
