COLOSSAL 1813 SHIPWRIGHT’S WOODWORKING PLANE
 
An impressive and large shipwright's long plane with carved-in decoration, owner's initials and date of 1813. Measures a whopping 42" in length and exhibiting a wonderful patina.
The front handle looks like it's probably a later addition but certainly done many, many years ago. This monumental piece
was likely brought to North America by a European immigrant in the early to mid-19th century.
